I would like to add my two cents to the articles ending with Minister Imbert’s letter to the editor of March 4. I note the editor’s note that sought to stress the need for Government to promote the good health of the construction industry and went on to correct a number of errors in the minister’s article. I would like to offer a few of my own. The minister is quite right of course that the Government has the right to cancel the procurement process.

Two schools were burnt and 20 people were left jobless after fire destroyed the historic Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) building on Harris Promenade, San Fernando yesterday.The building, which housed the YMCA Kindergarten School, three doctor’s offices, a modelling agency, a cafeteria, a computer room, a karate school and a trading store, were destroyed.

Raw sewage has been flowing out of a manhole at an Housing Development Corporation apartment building in Carlton Lane, San Fernando, causing several children to fall ill.
