The House Rent grant is short-term assistance available to persons who are unable to meet their current monthly rental payment and arrears. The maximum amount that can be accessed by a recipient is TT$2,500.00 over a three-month period.
Am I eligible?
To qualify for this grant you must be:
- A victim of domestic violence.
- A victim of a disaster, such as fire, flood or hurricane.
- A needy person threatened with eviction.
How do I apply?
You must visit the Social Welfare Division office in your district and speak to an officer. Follow the link below for a list of office locations. The officer will fill out an application form and your application will be reviewed.
What documents do I need?
- Proof of threatened eviction or, in the case of fire victims, a letter from the Fire Services Division.
- A letter from the landlord indicating the monthly rent.
- A rental receipt.
